Rococo night

The only thing that I miss when traveling or working too much is some good time with my best friends!

You know when you just spend time chilling, chatting, gossiping, drinking wine and laughing...

That's exactly what we did, Paolina and I the other night :)

In a freezing Paris, we went out for drinks and dinner. We wanted a cozy and warm place, preferably serving tapas and not to far... We really weren't hoping to find all that in one only single place, but we actually did !

We walked by this new bar, Rococo, which opened recently and seemed really nice : warm and welcoming atmosphere, lovely decoration, nice people, but not too crowded...

We gave a look at the menu and when we saw they were serving tapas, we obviously decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a very good decision ! In addition to all that, the food was amazing and service really nice !

^ Scallops, rice arancini, camembert fondue and a mixed meats and cheeses platter.

Everything was super yummy...

But the camembert fondue definitely won the first prize !

We had such the nicest time ! :D

Paris...

We arrived back in Paris two weeks ago, after spending one month in Australia... It was our wonderful honeymoon!!
We've been so happy, we discovered such beautiful places, view all sort of animals, met super nice people... it was a dream!
I was so excited to share all this and much more (I still have to share SO many travels and events from last year...).
But we arrived in a shocked Paris, we weren't there during the attacks, and thankfully all our loved ones are safe. But we still could felt the shock, the incompréhension, the unbelievable that was real...
I was scared to go out, the streets and the cafes were oddly empty. People were watching to each other strangely...
But now life is hopefully taking back the city again.
I felt lost, I didn't really know what to do...
I had previously accepted a role in the French web series "Les garçons de chambre" and shooting was last week. I drove to the set with my own car, I didn't feel to take public transports yet, I went to the make-up and hair corner, I wore my costume and I start feeling someone else...
Here a picture of me as the character :

I took a coffee, chatted with other actors, talked with the director, everyone was so nice and passionate... It felt good to be surrounded again by people like me, with the same dream and moved by the same passion... And then we went to the location. It wasn't an easy shooting: it was super cold, can't tell you where we were (I'm not allowed, to avoid spoiling the plot) but there was no heating, I was wearing a very revealing and short dress, it was raining, at the certain point the lights went off... But I was happy. And alive. I forgot everything else, I was just there, I was this other woman (can't tell you who - still not allowed to spoil the plot) and everything felt just ok again.
And now here I am, ready to embrace life to the fullest again, even more hungry than before!!

Waterlilies pond

Sunday calls for adventures! So Sunday morning (*noon), after a good breakfast, we jumped in the car and headed to Giverny, a picturesque, little town in Normandy. Giverny is mostly well-known as the impressionist painter Claude Monet had his home and above all his famous gardens there, and one can still visit both.

This is something I've wanted to visit for a long time, so I was more than excited, reaching Giverny.
The place was, unfortunately, fully packed with tourists and I highly recommend you to purchase your tickets online in order to skip the long queue!
Once you enter the garden, you're welcomed by all species of plants and flowers in an incredible burst of colors and smells!

Monet's house is in the middle of the garden, surrounded by flowers. No wonder that with such a view, Monet was so inspired...

I wish I could have the same office and desk!

And the interior of the house isn't bad either...

Isn't this white and blue kitchen a dream?

And by the way, the whole house is pink!!! I guess Monet and I share the same taste... ;p

We kept wandering among the flowers...

Until we arrived to the waterlilies pond, that was just too beautiful!!
Not even all the tourists could disturb the beauty and the calm of the place...

I could have been sitting there watching the pond for ever... If it wasn't for my stomach that started noisily remembering me it was lunch time...
So we left the kingdom of Monet, we grabbed the picnic that we prepared the morning and we walked around until we found a little park where we had lunch and a little nap!

By the way, Giverny is a very touristic place (much more than I expected) and it's full of bar and restaurants. But I still prefer have lunch in the sun, feet in the grass...

In the afternoon, we visited the Museum of Impressionism and its garden. The museum is currently hosting an photography exhibition, in which 5 contemporary photographs give their vision of Monet's gardens through their pictures. I was really glad to find a photos exhibition!

The museum's garden is very beautiful too, it's composed of several little spaces in which flowers are "organized" by color. It's very pleasant to walk around.

And just for the record, the garden is free entrance (not the museum).

We really had a beautiful day in Giverny! Just how Sundays are meant to be! :)
